creating 3D intro effect with Vegaspro

3POINT schrieb am 07.04.2021 um 22:11 Uhr

In those days when I used mostly (Sony) Vegas Movie Studio, I created following 3D intro effect with VMS12 32bit and the free plugin PluginPac 3D LE from Debugmode, which made creating such 3D effects possible without much knowledge. Unfortunately this Plugin worked only with 32bit Vegas applications.

Here's a screenshot of the project timeline (I just reinstalled VMS12 trial for this purpose) and a short example of what the effect does.

Is there an easy way to achieve this with todays Vegaspro18? My trials with 3D Source Alpha of Track Motion all failed.

Who can put me in the right direction?

I loved that plug in, it really did some nice effx for the time. I did this quickly, and it is just a still, not as polished as yours but it shows you can do it. This is with Version 12 using 3D source alpha.

Doing the shadows is a lot harder. It was much easier with the plug in.

@Ehemaliger User That's a quick response. Can your 3D source alpha example slide from right to left, like mine example, without been cut-off. When possible, could you send me your .veg?

Like I said, I did it as a still, will take a bit longer to animate. Let me play with it awhile.

This is far from perfect, but shows it can be done. I am not good working in 3D spaces, I get confused, but if it helps I can send the veg. It is very basic and needs a lot of refinement. but you do lose the shadows. I guess you could nest it to get them back.

addendum: I nested it in Vegas and was able to add the drop shadow. 3D LE made this so much easier.

Another way of doing this in Vegas Pro 18 is to use the Mesh Warp FX which, if used with only four points, acts like a corner pinning.

Then combine with 3D source alpha panning.

I think with 2 3D-tracks you can realize this effect.
