I have an mp4 file and a separate srt file. My client needs a file with hardcoded subs. What would be a way to do this? Vegas doesnt seem to take srt file well, can I convert the srt file to something that Vegas understands and import it into Vegas?
Darn, I need this done tonight, any other suggestions??? Ive been googling a lot and can't find an easy solution, looks like I need to do it by hand which is quite a task.
Sorry but I don't do this so I can't offer any suggestions.
Perrone Ford is one of the few guys on here who does this on a regular basis and might be able to help out.
His user name is PerroneFord (all one word) and he's set up to accept emails from other users so do a search and drop him a line.
I think that there's a filter for virtualdub that will burn subtitles into the video. Too late for you now, unfortunately.
The thing is, burning subtitles directly into the image is not what things like SRT files were designed for, so it's not much of a surprise that Vegas has never been able to do it. However, there's always been a demand for this so hopefully VP10 covers it satisfactorily. Hopefully they grab a little of that momentum to improve things like credit rolls too!
