Importing Cineform and H.265 from GoPro Player

STEVEN-STEFANY schrieb am 17.07.2020 um 13:29 Uhr

I have the GoPro Max. They have desktop software, GoPro Player, which renders out reframed and/or spherical video in GoPro Cineform, H.264 or 5. I cannot import the Cineform (.mov) or H.265 into Vegas Pro 17.  I have a I7-6700 4Ghz, 64 bit, 32 gig ram. Video card, Nvidia GeForce GTX1070 - 8 gig ram with the latest Nvidia Studio drivers. I have tried QuickTime's last two versions. I have installed from the Microsoft store HEVC drivers. I have installed GoPro Studio which has Cineform drivers (btw- I can encode into Cineform and H.265). GoPro seems married to Premiere. I can import GoPro Cineform into Premiere but not the H.265. I don't want to work in Premiere but Vegas. I could import the Cineform into Premiere and re encode it to DNxHR and that will import into Vegas no problem but that's a lot of work. I have also gone into preferences in Vegas, into the Deprecated tab and enabled Legacy Quicktime plugin. At this point I'd like to focus on getting GoPro Cineform into Vegas Pro 17. One more thing. It seems that the flavor of Cineform from GoPro is slightly different than others. I had one guy trying to help me and he could import other Cineform files into Vegas but not the GoPro version of Cineform. They do not have a Vegas plugin. Any more ideas?

Found something out about H.265 no being able to import. I can export H.265 in Vegas and re import....this version of H.265------

I have removed the term "Sony". I purchased from Magix.

These files are Cineform mov files or H.265 files exported from GoPro PLayer taken on the GoPro Max. I'm looking for ideas to get the Cineform, mov, or H.265, mp4, files to import into Vegas Pro 17. I can import HEVC or H.265 files from the camera itself just not out of the GoProPlayer.

I did that never because I prefer to work with the camerasources and not others who are already edited one way or another.

It might be worth mentioning the "guy" was the venerable Dr Zen who is well known here: https://www.moviestudiozen.com/forum/vegas-pro/2673-importing-h-265-into-vegas-pro-17-edit

Yes, you are correct. Dr. Zen suggested I come here to look for answers. He was very helpful.

STEVEN-STEFANY schrieb am 17.07.2020 um 14:48 Uhr

GoPro Player (or some other software) has to be used if you want to reframe the 360 video. It doesn't come out of the camera reframed.

There is another thread on this forum here, but no solution unfortunately:
