indeo video playback driver

I've been running Screenblast MS3.0 for about a year with Windows XP home ... and all the latest XP updates. Screenblast is amazingly robust. Out of the blue, I now get the following message everytime I fire up MS3.0:

"Indeo Video Playback

The program you are trying to run requires a current Indeo codec.
To obtain a current driver that is compatible with this version of Windows, please contact the manufacturer at http://indeo.ligos.com.'

I just say "Continue" - and everything appears to continue to work.

I notice that "Indeo" is mentioned in some other threads on this forum - but it is not clear what to do about it.

Do I need to do anything? If so ... what?
Thanks

As I'm sure you know, Ian, a codec is a method of video file compression. (NTSC-DV is one of several codecs for AVIs, for instance.) You only need it if you're creating or playing back a video file that uses that codec.

On the other hand, I checked out the link in your message, and there is indeed a download available there. Might as well get it.

To paraphrase Quentin Tarantino, it is better to have a codec and not need it than to need it and not have it.
