No support for Canon MXF format in Vegas Pro 12

I've been a Vegas Pro user for many, many years. And always been happy with most of everything. The stuff I wasn't too impressed with has generally been fixed in later releases.
But Canon MXF format support is missing - and this is a catastrophic problem.
Yes, I know the clips will load just fine as Sony MXF files - but they're not Sony, and the results when rendering are a total disaster. No amount of twiddling Saturation, Color Balance, etc etc will get the clips to look even close to the way they did before they went into Vegas Pro.
It makes no difference what Project properties or properties for the clips I set. No Colour Space or format settings give anything close to decent results.
Every single project is a desperate struggle to find some kind of compromise that is acceptable and doesn't make me look too bad in front of my customers.
I get far better resutls with basic mp4 clips off YouTube than with Full HD Canon MXF, since 'Render as' results in the same general look as the original clip with just about anything other than Canon MXF.
Besides, Canon MXF is a huge player on trhe market and getting bigger. It CANNOT be ignored.

You have described a number of things that have not worked for you, but other than "disaster" we have no idea what the problem actually is. Are you importing C-Log files, or is it just the usual, expected preview levels shift in Vegas? Are you starting in an 8 bit or 32 bit float project? Does using the Canon import utility make a difference?

A MediaInfo readout and a short uploaded original camera file somewhere (not Youtube) would seem to be the bare minimum to getting peer support on the forum. Without those, all anyone here could do is guess at a solution for an as-yet undefined problem.

I don't have Vegas 12 yet so I'll turn this over to those who do.

I work with Canon MFX files in Vegas everyday, for a series on PBS.I have absolutely no problems. Perhaps you could be a bit more specific what difficulties you are having? I especially like that they smart render natively.

FishNose - you are reaching some hasty conclusions without investigating. Canon MXF as coming out of prosumer cameras is more than compatible with VegasPro app. In fact it is a preferred source format. I don't see why you are confusing this with the Sony MXF. MXF is a wrapper. Mpeg2 is the codec. There are many many satisfied users (pro?) who are using Canon as their goto choice of acquisition.
