Old Blackmagic RAW in Vegas

eikira schrieb am 26.08.2021 um 10:41 Uhr

So lets say i got an old Blackmagic Production Camera 4K with a decent lense you still get a very good picture quality out of it. The only thing is, it records in Cinema DNG black magic Format. Not even Windows 10 can display the DNG. So has anybody a good way to import DNG sequences into Vegas. Sure i could batch the DNG to PNG in a cheap dirty way with IrfanView, but its hard to say how much quality/information of the picture gets lost. Is there a more native way for that and Vegas?

"Not even Windows 10 can display the DNG."

Sure? I remember to a certain limit this worked well for Vegas Pro if only the Adobe DNG codec was installed for Windows. That "certain limit" was or is the missing RAW meta data access.

I installed the newest AdobeCameraRAW (13.4) and CameraRaw (13.1) no effect. Then i searched and found a very old DNG Codec pack (something 2.0) which worked and i can display it in windows, but the performance is AWFUL.
Was just curious if there is anything else. I mean the camera has ProRes so there is a workable playground there.

Seems like Adobe doesn't like to share the codec anymore. Mmh …

So far I remember, DNG is not compatible.
