I recorded videos in 2k and 60 FPS with my DJI OSMO Pocket the other day, as I want to use the footage for slow motion. So video format is:
59,940 fps progressive, 2720x1536x32, AVC.
I am using Sony Vegas Pro 13, and now I want to render a Full HD (1920x1080) video at 29,970 (NTSC) FPS as the output video. For this I choose the following project or render settings:
So, with my clip I have now done the following:
- Disable resampling
- Playback rate set to 0.5, either manually or by envelope, but never below 0.5 or 50%, because then I would have less than 30 FPS. By min. 50% the video should run in the slow motion smoothly.
Here is an example of a clip after rendering - strangely enough, the video does not look completely smooth but jerks slightly. This does not change with the following changes:
- min. 55% speed
- 60 FPS in the project settings
- 8 bit instead of 32 floating point
- render with higher/lower frame rate
- render with two passes and higher bitrate
However, if I slow down the output video by 50% using the VLC player, for example, the whole thing looks super smooth. Do you have any idea what this could be?
