Vedgas Pro freezes When opening Project Media
Hmmm... I put that in the post first...then walked away. Must have started a new post. Anyway...Vegas 13, But I came back to say...after several restarts and waiting it finally opened.I've been using Vegas for years..never with a crash. In the last year or so it's been crashing and freezing regularly. It is an I7, but an older PC (like 7 yrs old), so maybe it's seeing it's golden years. I don't have issues with other programs though.

At least B3, C1, C2 please. Perhaps C3 too and a sample project. I have no idea what you are saying...

I don't mean GPU accelerated video processing but GPU supported rendering. These are different pairs of shoes. Oh.. Its Render using CPU only

And you didn't render via GPU? GPU Acceleration is off.

Try turning off GPU? Yes. GPU Accerlation is off (as a matter of fact I don't even have an option to turn on) VEGAS 13 btw

Are you using an alpha channel or chroma key? Ummm, I'm not sure. I just used the Vegas Chroma key plug in, made text transparent, and put video under it. That's work in the past... do I need to do more ?

Linked clips..how to unlink
Well, they are not 'grouped' because they don't react that way. But they are "linked'. If I move one the other doesn't move.I tried to create a Subclip...but it's greyed out. I was able to "Fix it" by just deleting and pasting in a new clip instead of "replace" Although I lost my keyframes, there were only 2.Still, that's a workaround, it allows me to complete my work, but I haven't really figured out the problem and learn anything.I've saved the unfixed project to go back later and try and figure out how and why it does what it does.Thanks for the help though!

OK I Think I found the issue. I was changing the entire name (including extension). When I changed just the name prime it worked fine within Vegas, No need to go outside to Explorer.

John Dennis...Interesting... that's not quite the way I was doing it,...although it will work for now. Vegas also offers a RENAME option a few lines down and I was using that.Thanks....

XAVC-S format - Device Explorer
Peter,Are you saying that the XAVC-S format doesn't break apart large files? That's great if so. How about DV files? Are AVCHD files the only ones that break up? If that's the case...then it's really just a matter of "copying" all other files (besides AVCHD) instead of actually "Importing" them?

I'll try and load the camera software and see if that works. It's actually not a BIG deal because I can always just copy and paste where I want just like any other file. So far for this shoot, the files haven't been more than 5 minutes long. It may become a situation when I have longer files that the camera breaks up into multiple files and I have to concatenate, I may drop a frame or 2.

The SD card is actually still in the reader. That's where Vegas is directed. I just copied it manually when Device Explorer failed.

I'll have to find the software and load it up. I didn't install it when I got it because I didn't think it was necessary. It's sony to sony. I also tried it using Sony's "Content Management Utility". It also cannot locate or recognize the files, which are stored in "E:\PRIVATE\M4ROOT\CLIP" as .mp4 files. I'm using Vegas 13.I didn't initially navigate to the folder. I let Device Explorer do its thing. When it didn't load them I tried to point it and it still would not recognize the files. The only way to see them right now is in Window file manager or explorer.

Video Card recomendations
Oh well.. I had to go out and get a card today from Microcenter. The one they recommended (that was within my last minute, crisis budget) was the GTX 1050TI with 4gb of GDDR5 ram.Hit or miss?It's supposed to be over 700% faster than my old GT630.

Most of it is filmed on my Sony Camcorder (HXR NX 70u) in HD at 60 fps. This particular shot was stock footage shot at 24.9fos, The issue seems to be consistent throughout however.

Vegas Crashing
OK,I uninstalled and went back and installed v453 and it works fine. I believe that's what I had before....but I think I used the 'new' Magix file which gave me issues. Anyway.... so far so good.THANKS!
