1920x800 VS 1920x1080 .. just thinking outloud...

is there ANY BENEFIT to "RENDERING" my movies at 1920x800 (2.4:1) verse 1920x1080 WITH the black bars? I was thinking maybe without the black bars the render could go faster, the files would be slightly smaller and burning to BLURAY via DVD Architect would take care of it anyway?
Thoughts?

If you are rendering for computer or streaming playback, your thinking is correct.

The BluRay spec supports 1920x1080, so if you give Architect 1920x800, it would render again to required dimensions, wiping out any gains you perceive, many times over.
