Ive been messing a round with 9d since it came out and i suffered with the slow load up times and Vegas stalling when loading veg files, tried all the ideas with the reinstalls and reg cleaning but still the same,so went back to 9c but today i tried 9d again but this time i reset vegas to defaults by holding down the ctrl + shift keys while clicking on the vegas icon keeping the keys held until load up on screen also clicking the check box to clear out Vegas cache files, this has worked like a dream things are back to normal in fact i would almost say 9d is loading my veg files faster than 9c did,so now im a happy bunny so to speak hope this is a help to anyone out there.

That was my solution two days ago as well.
Unfortunately a few folks have tried it since I reported it but without any success so the search for a definitive cure continues :-(

I thought I had solved my problems too but unfortunately just re opened my project after meeting with client to find the veg file is crawling again! this after it opening fine just 3 hrs ago.
Its as if vegas doesnt recognise or struggles to read the file types as i previously said in the other thread on 9d http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=705930&Replies=11

Fingers crossed mine stays on the ball so to speak,9d seems to have improvements on the quality side of things when rendering just rendered down a music vid down and its a little sharper then 9c not sure why, same settings on the render,as for the slow load up my system does say that vegas is seaching alot harder than before so what its doing is a hard one to pin down.

I tryed that solution, but it doesn't work for me. I've got some complex projects which still take forever to open. It's very frustrating... So at the moment I reverted back to 9.0c.

Bye everyone.

Pretty much for my money 9.0d sucks!!! Don't quite understand why the customer is expected to test this software in a production mode. Every year Sony gets a little poorer in software support.

Virgin install of Vista x64 Ultimate sp2.
Virgin install of Vegas Pro 9d.

NO additional codecs or media playing software.

Still slow in ALL respects.

No change in load times. So clearly this issue has NOTHING to do with settings or registry settings from previous Vegas installs.

There is something fundamentally wrong with 9d.

[edit]

And I don't believe it's the AVIplug.dll. I replaced the version in 9d with the one from 9c and it made no difference.

I now have to agree after a few more days of using 9d its got slower again on the load up times and the problems with pro titler make it almost unusable so to speak back 9c ive tried everything which has been put forward on the forum and as TLF said there is something fundamentally wrong with 9d
