Activation

We have to rebuild our computers every year, sometimes 3 or 4 times a year, due to the harsh conditions in which they are used. I've re-installed this software but can't get the Sony registration system to work! I've put in a support ticket but have yet to hear from Sony. The current project has to be sent to the client by tomorrow, in keeping with contractual agreements.

How do I get in touch with Sony to get this fixed?

Registration is handled by Customer Service, not technical support.
If you've used up your allotment of activations, they should be able to fix it straightaway for you.

I would consider three or four OS reinstallations per year obsessive, under any conditions. At the very least, you should have a dedicated editing machine, that does not need such drastic maintenance.

The best way to do this is to get the basic build set up, applications like Vegas installed, and then do a drive image. Then when you have to "rebuild" your systems, it's just a matter of reloading the drive image and you're starting fresh and clean again with the software already installed and activated.

I've re-imaged drives (in the distant past) and iirc, the Sony apps needed to be re-activated. Not a big deal though. I only used up my activations once (VP2).

On a similar subject is there a way to unregister a Computer ID? I tested it on a laptop to see how well it worked based on the stats of the lappy, and with that I bought a more powerful lappy to edit on. So now I want to remove the ID as I don't want it linked to that computer anymore.

Don't worry. Your EULA authorizes more than one computer.
