black line at bottom of screen

hi capable ones: When I watch my work of art on the preview screen, and when it is rendered, there is a black line at the bottom of the screen, almost like a letterbox type thing, but not as big. Am I making sense? I use Match Media Settings on the Properties/file menu, and I tried messing around with the length of the screen, but nothing is working. What can I do?

After you export it to video, does it still show up on your TV screen?

Most likely it's outside your live area and won't show in the final piece.

If you're trying to produce an electronic file and it's still showing up, that's a bit more troubling.

Does your picture look at all disportionate? Wider than it should be maybe?

Is your original source video tape or stills?

Just chipping away at the clues...

Well I never tried exporting it back to video..
But the original source is dv, and when I rendered it to quicktime and Windows media, it has the bar underneath. As far as it looking wider than it should, I haven't noticed it if it is. Any other ideas?
