Capturing audio in stereo

I have footage with two mono tracks on DVtape and I have difficulties to capture both audio channels (L and R). I always end up with one mono chanel when capturing with vegas and with this spesific camera. Cam is sony DSR-PDX10P. I have shooted by using two different mics to two different channels. When I listen the footage with headphones plugged in the camera the sound is really stereo (not actually stero but one person speaking in the channel 1 and an other one in the channel 2). Some why Vegas doesn't regognize those two different mono tracks when capturing. It's od because I have succesfully captured stereo channels with the same vegas (4) but with different cameras. Any one know the solution?

What you have is two mono channels
So, in Vegas:
Copy the audio track to a new audio track.
Right click one track, choose Channels, and then choose "Left Only."
Now repeat the process, only this time choose "Right Only."

Now you have two channels/tracks of audio that are both mono, separated from each other.

Vegas doesn't/can't know the difference between a stereo track, and 2 channel mono. It's just two separate audio events in one file, as far as Vegas is concerned.

Sounds like the "other" channel may be on the second stereo track. Try Scenalyzer Live and let it capture both Stereo1 and Stereo2.

There is a known problem with the PDX10P (got one myself) and capturing audio. Vegas as well as Premiere only gives mono capture. To get stereo you need to use Scenalyser ("quite" inexpensive).
