Crossfade from one image to next for ALL images

I am running Vegas Pro 19.0 in a Windows 10 desktop, and setting up a slide show of about 100 images. I would like to have each transition fade out from one image to fade in on next image with an overlap. I have figured out how to do this on ONE image, by dragging one image to the left by about 1 second, thus those 2 will cross-fade as desired. But how do I do this on all 100 images at the same time? ie. without having to do this on each one of the 100 images?

I also found that by selecting all, and then doing a drag of the upper right, fade out, of the last image and dragging to the left, and also doing a fade in similarly, it would apply that to ALL images, but it gives only a fade out of each image, going to black, and the fade in of next image goes from black to fade in. So, again, how to do a cross fade of ALL images, as per the first paragraph above.

This can easily be done by checking "Automatically overlap multiple selected media when added" in Options/Preferences/Editing (tab). The default overlap is set at 1 second but this can be changed if so desired. Once this setting is activated, any media added to the timeline as a group will automatically overlap (crossfade).

If they are not already on the timeline, I'd certainly try the option shown by Dexcon.

If they are already on the timeline, you still have some options.

  1. You can also create an overlap by getting on the split point and pressing "/" on the numeric keypad. That will extend both the left and right by one second.
  2. You can use a script to add the crossfade. The script can be designed to either move each image left so it overlaps by 1 second. Or it could extend the left one over the right one by one second. Or it could move it left by 1/2 second and extend it by 1 second. Lots of options when using a script.

Dexcon, Your solution worked perfectly. Thanks much.

@robert-lyons A tool in my free extension Pandora will do this. It can either cross fade all events or cross fade groups of selected events. The cross fade duration in frames is selectable. See here for details.

Jack S, I viewed your video shown above. I have never used Pandora before. For this free extension to work, does it require a base install of Pandora? ... or just the extension? If a base Pandora is required, is that base free or paid? ...and after install of the extension, does it put a drop-down in Vegas Pro 19 to invoke your Pandora extension ?

In addition, I did a Google search on Pandora, and all I can find is something to do with entertainment and playing music. Pandora owned by SiriusXM? ... IMO SiriusXM is a company to be avoided. Is the Pandora extension which you mentioned above the same Pandora as SiriusXM?

@robert-lyons Pandora is an extension developed by myself and it’s free. If you watch the tutorial, I describe how to download it, install it and launch it. No, it has nothing to do with SiriusXM.
