DVD to Vegas 10?

Hello all.

I have an important question for a project I am doing. I am on a deadline and need to complete it before Christmas.

I have DVD's of home videos. I need to import the video off of them into Vegas for Editing. It's some type of "VOB" file. I can easily import them into my computer but no luck on putting into Vegas.

I have minimal equipment, time and money. So I need to do this digitally as soon as possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Joshua

Select File-> Import-> DVD Camcorder Disk.

It will then import as Mpeg file format to a folder.

Edit:
hmm, the help file says "a finalized Sony DVD Handycam® camcorder disc".. Guess thats not the same as a regular DVD?
I just did a test and it did not work.

Paul.

This was just covered in another topic.

Vegas allows you to open up a DVD .IFO file. This imports the entire .VOB chain for both video and audio tracks.

Click File / Open, then navigate to your VIDEO_TS sub directory and enter *.IFO in the File name input field. For a regular DVD you will see a VIDEO_TS.IFO, and a VTS_01_0.IFO. Select the VTS_01_0.IFO file and click on Open.

This works best if you copy your DVD files to a local directory on your hard disk.
