Editing trouble

All of a sudden when adding a clip to an video track or editing the clip in length, everything to the right on the timeline changes. Lengthening the clip moves everything to the right farther to the right. Shortening does the opposite. I have been using VMS 17 Pro extensively for weeks, suddenly this started to happen. Reinstalled with no effect. Has some setting changed?

You have probably enabled RIPPLE.

Impossible . There are Vegas Pro programs upto version 19 and Vegas Movie Studio and Vegas Movie Studio Platinum till version 17

I undid RIPPLE and that seems to have corrected the problem. I had not turned this on to my knowledge.

Also, I looked at updating to Vegas Movie Studio 18 but found that it lacked many of Version 17's features. I installed Vegas Pro 18 and found with the same project loaded as I was using in VMS 17 that I got preview screen red screen errors. I found that I needed to turn off the sharing of the graphics GPU for this to not happen. I do have an older NVIDA graphics card. Curious why this happened with Vegas Pro and not VMS 17.

There is no VEGAS Movie Studio 18. Movie Studio 18 is a different MAGIX product and support for it is available from the MAGIX user forum https://www.magix.info/us/video-forum/movie-edit-pro/
