Editing with your voice

Has anyone successfully used Dragon Naturally Speaking to edit in Sony Vegas.

I think it would be really interesting to see if it would work and if it really would save time by saying commands instead of entering them with the mouse. I think it would be really cool to be able to edit or at least enter some commands just by talking.

Or would this be just a waste of time, just a question? It seems to work really well for dictating letters like I'm doing now, the product has come along way since I tried it a long time ago.

Well, the word "slice" take longer then me hitting the S key, but I'd imagine it could be great for macros and scripts.

Would be neat to see how it would work, give it a try.

As long as it doesn't mistake "Undo" for "Redo".

I can imagine "Undo" would be the most used command ....

That and "Ahhhh! S*%#$#T!"

I think voice commands would be perfect for editing while texting and driving, but in my workplace it'd get a little noisy since we have an open floor plan. Editors might edit over each other. (Or run each other over if they do the driving part in the office.)

That and most of my coworkers would rather send me email than turn in their chair and talk to me. Something about having a record of our conversations for the lawyers, I think.

What I want to see is voice activated computers in libraries. They could make a "shhhh!" sound every time you talk to them.

Basically, I guess I'm not too positive about everyone yapping at their computers. But I do use a voice assistant with my phone when I'm in the car.

That would be a terrible thing to do.

We must be related.

You'd have to add "new project/close program" or else they could just undo.

You guys make me glad this technology didn't exist back in the MSDOS days. "Deltree!"

What about using dragon to speak text into text media generator or pro titler in Sony Vegas - would that be possible? or helpful?

You will lose/strain your voice doing hours of editing. Plus, if you are working with audio that could be a factor as well.

I've used dragon speak and got tried of not being able to have music playing or correcting things.

I was thinking that Dragon might work for converting audio text of your finished project to subtitles but I did get shot down pretty quick from the people that know whats going on.
