I just installed Movie Studio 17 Platinum. In the online help it says that a docked window can be maximised by clicking on a square icon that should appear in the tab for the window. I don't see such an icon on any of the tabs. Is this something that needs to be enabled in Preferences? Or is it gone from version 17?
I imagine it should say "undocked". A docked window will be the size of the docking area.
Thanks for the quick reply, jetdv. I previously used Movie Studio 8, and in that version each docking panel has a left-facing triangle icon. When you click on the triangle, the panel expands to occupy the whole docking area (but stays docked). The icon changes to a right-facing triangle; clicking on this restores the panels.
I suspect that the online help is referring to the same ability (maximise/restore) but the icons have changed to squares. Perhaps this was available in version 16 but not in 17?
If my memory serves me correctly the procedure got changed but the Manual/Help didn't .

Hi, EricLNZ - I have been able to use the method described in that thread to dock and un-dock a window. The thread doesn't mention the capability I described above - which was available in MS 8 Platinum - that is, to maximise a window (with one click on a button) so that it fills the whole dock.
It sounds like that is no longer possible in MS 17 Platinum :-(
@richard-cameron My earliest VMSP version was 12 and I cannot recall the one click option you describe ever being available. So it must have disappeared between versions 8 and 12.
@EricLNZ - Here's the review of MSP 12 by Derek Moran: 
The triangle button is directly beneath the X button at the top left corner of each docking panel.
It looks like the UI was revamped in MSP 15 and these "maximise" controls were removed.
Indeed, no Maximize/Restore button there any more after v.14 P. Instead you could hover your mouse over the border between the right side of the panel and the preview panel to find the splitter (the icon with the two-headed arrow). Drag it to the right to enlarge.
