When you're chewing on life's gristle,
Don't grumble, give a whistle,
And this'll help things turn out for the best.

And.... <SING>

Ah... some Monty humor. How refreshing. I could almost hear the whistles. :)

We are the videographers who say... Nih!

It would be nice if the new owners would let us know what they plan to do with the various products, support etc. This kind of ownership change can be a good or bad thing. A press release to their customers would be comforting.

Owners of Sony's Movie Studio (which is just Video Factory in a Sony box) now have to join (and pay for) a membership on their web site to download clips and information etc that was once free! Not a good thing! They do offer a "free" membership, but it's rather useless. They offer just enough to entice you into purchasing the "premium" membership.

Dave, This is not necessarily a bad thing. Lots of people charge you for media content. It’s big business. I think what was free on the ScreenBlast site is still free. The free member ship has 30 video clips, 85 music clips and 30 sound FX while the premium membership has over 200+ video, 700+ music & 200+ sound FX. Some people might see that as a value add they’re willing to pay for.

Hey we could have done worse... Pinnacle Systems could have bought Vegas! (Oh Nooooo) :-O

The good news is that the Sonic Foundry programmers will be moving to Sony. If the new management lets them do their jobs, I think everything will be fine.

Also, I hope Sony keeps a forum like this. This forum is definetely one of the benefits of buying Video Factory over other products.
