What I lost was my custom templates. Guess I will have to rebuild them.

In an older version of Windows, they are stored in:

system drive:\Documents and Settings\[owner-user name]\Application Data\Sony\Render Templates

.sft2 files

Hopefully that will help you find them in Win10.

Thanks, Don't see them. No big deal, just use three, but one of the small pains of moving to windows 10.

On Windows 8.1 the templates are here:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Sony\Render Templates

You need to configure the Windows Explorer to show hidden system files and folders as AppData is normally a hidden folder.

I recommend backing them up to an external drive or thumb drive first if you plan to upgrade to Windows 10.

Thank you, you helped me, I found my templates! But, somehow, Vegas doesn’t see them. Can you help me (after 9 years), where should I put these templates to make Vegas see them again?

@ykcul Which version and build of Vegas are you using?

You could try putting them in C:\Users\"User name"\AppData\Roaming\VEGAS\Render Templates

They need to be kept in their subfolders.

For modern versions of Vegas Pro, the custom render template folder is in C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\VEGAS\Render Templates. However, that folder is only created once a custom template has been saved on that computer. While it's simple enough to add a folder named 'Render Templates', you'll also need to create a subfolder named for the render format: for example, this is my folder:

As you've found your custom render templates, presumably the subfolder names are also there so it will just be a matter of creating the 'Render Templates' folder and then copy/pasting the subfolders into that folder.
