New build won't save a still. Crash everytime!

Yes, I load a clip into my trimmer. Save a still frame. The still appears in my Media Bin with no picon. If I put it on my timeline Vegas crashes. White screen of death. This is repeatable. The still looks fine in Windows Explorer. It happens everytime. This worked with all previous versions of 12 and 10. I am editing a wedding and when everybody jumps I must have a still frame of the top of the jump. Do I have to load a previous build of Vegas to finish my project, or can somebody make this new build work?

Use a velocity envelope instead of a still. Freeze it at the desired point for the desired amount of time.

Have you tried saving your snapshot from the timeline rather than the trimmer?
Never had a problem here, but my version is older.

Snapshot from Timeline works ok in Bld.486

I just split the event at the point I want to freeze, zoom in the timeline to where I can see individual frames, split off one frame, convert it to a subclip, and I can stretch that one frame out as long as I want, then slide the second part of the original event up to the subclip and I am done. This is for when I don't need a still.

You should not be able to save a still from the trimmer. When the preview window shows material from the trimmer, the "Copy to clipboard" and "Save snapshot" buttons are disabled.

But you can save (RC) a snapshot from the trimmer, IF the preview window does not show material from the trimmer (Show Video Monitor is selected).(12b486)
The file shows in Project media and the event on the timeline is ok here.

Oh, you mean by right clicking the trimmer's video monitor? Indeed, that's a possibility. It won't crash my Vegas, though.
