can i install 9 along with 8 (like vegas versions)?

and what happens if i decide to uninstall 8 afterwards?

i ask because when i uninstalled sf 7 (after installing 8), it really screwed things up and i had to reinstall 8 again).

it's no big deal, but i like to avoid headaches whenever possible.
