[SOLVED] Error 0x80660008 VEGAS Pro 18 & RTX 3050 - Fix Driver 576.88

Hello,

I encountered a recurring error with VEGAS Pro 18

The Error
*   VEGAS Pro 18: "An error occurred while creating the media file... Error 0x80660008".
*   Context: The error occurred with every video file, not just recordings.

My Setup
*   GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU
*   VEGAS Version: 18.0

What didn't work (current update 591.xx)
*   Driver 591.xx
*   Disabling HAGS.

The Solution
I manually installed the **NVIDIA Game Ready Driver version 576.88**. This specific version restored NVENC compatibility for Vegas 18.

Oh sorry @EricLNZ ! I wasn't aware that this pattern was known. My build version is 18.0 (Build 284). I posted this specifically to help those struggling to find which exact driver version works among the recent releases

I recommend 581.57 as the latest studio driver release that works with all versions of VEGAS.

@cia2016 Build 284 of VP18 was the initial build. There were five updates, the last one being build 527. Whilst updating shouldn't alter anything in relation to the NVIDIA driver problem there are improvements and bug fixes in the updates. It is recommended you update to the latest build 527. It should be available from your Magix account under My Products or here.
