So I am editing a video and i want to have text pop up at different times in each corner, so I split the text and even though split, they all move around the video to the same corner even when focused on one text box. This is something I do often so I need a solution.
If you split a text, it's still the same event. Check in project media! Instead, copy the text event, and paste it. When Vegas asks, select "create a new copy..." If you would select "create a reference..", you'd just repeat your problem.
If I'd need 4 texts in 4 corners at different times, I'd use 4 tracks, 4 text events.
This is a very quick and dirty example, just to show the idea...
Everyone in the galaxy reuses assets. The solution is to Save Preset from all of the unique text types and locations. Then, Right+Click and Insert Generated Media where you need a new copy of the asset.
Yeah just splitting a text even if you change one piece you change the others. To avoid this I like to copy and paste the text even. There will be a prompt to make it it's own event or not, which you should do.
