Did you read the online Help item "Keyframe Animation"?

Both events are the SAME base media. So when you change one, it changes both. Instead of doing the split, ctrl-click and drag the event to a new place on the timeline. Then it will ask if you want to create a new MEDIA or if you want a new event with the SAME media. Right now, you have a "reference to the original media".

In your video, you're not really using keyframes. You have one instance of Titles and Text on the timeline twice. Therefore, when you change one, you change both. In both cases - because you split the event - you're changing the "first" keyframe. If you hadn't split it, you could have created multiple keyframes. But it's all still one event. See this image showing two keyframes and the text for the second keyframe is showing in the preview screen.

Personally, I'd use two instances of Titles and Text either by copying as I indicated above or adding it to the timeline twice from Media Generators.
