The Aiptek 3D-HD Camcorder. Is it Vegas friendly?

I've been following the thread on the merits of using Vegas to edit 3D footage when I came across this little camcorder. Here is a link to it listed on B&H Photo:

I know a $185 camcorder isn't going to produce stunning 3D video and will have all sorts of limitations. But does anyone know if Vegas can be used to edit the video it produces? It seems the converted anaglyph (red/green) video could be. Not sure about the polarized version using Active-Shutter technology. Looks like it would be a fun toy to play with either way. Anyone have any experience with this?

There is a little information on older Aiptek camcorders with Vegas here, if it is of any help. I know absolutely nothing about their 3D model, but if you get one, I hope you will share your experience and I will include it in the tutorial:

The Aiptek 3D camera works fine with Vegas Pro 10. It outputs an MP4 in Side by Side Half format. Vegas does not auto-detect it though. You pull the clip onto the timeline and set the properties to side by side half and Vegas will now see it as stereo.

Editing with Vegas is very nice with this camcorder. You will get better results with Vegas than any other solution. The camera has mechanical alignment issues (very small) that Vegas corrects nicely.

Because it is 720 side by side half, you only have 610 horizontal resolution, so do not expect stunning output. It is fun to work with and for the price it is a great introduction to Stereo imaging. No adjustment for inter-ocular distance and convergence limits it somewhat, but no more than than the horizontal resolution. It is a FULL sunlight camera with no low light ability.

All that said, for <$200 I have found it to be a kick to play with. Until I get around to building my Zi8 based rig, it will do just fine. The RED based beam splitter unit is much farther down the line :)
