V12 unable to create BD (Cured)

I haven't been using V12 b770 for a while but now I want to it's having fits.
It's been locking up my pc regularly which I can get around by re-booting but now it will not create a 1920 x 1080 24p BD file. First I create the AC3 5.1 then I do the video.
Only the video won't happen.
First the preview window starts to "tear", or go jagged or flicker to black and back.
Then shortly:
Around 10,000+ frames the frames drop to zero and I get the error message:

"An error occured while creating the media file Now_04.m2v.
The reason for the error could not be determinecd.
<OK>"

What now?
I have a ton of RAM, a 6core processor, plenty of disk space, Win7 64bit.
The .veg is entirely made up of still photos using pan-n-scan.
Currently I got a Comodo message saying vegas wanted to do something so I clicked "OK" and now V12 has locked up.
The only thing working is this Firefox window...
I better post it.

seemed that way but actually that should have read. V12 has crashed and is stuck in the centre of the screen.

Mostly TIFF, 9 of them ranging from 3602x1603x32 through to
8868x1865x32
The bigger ones range from 40MB through to 60MB.

Ahh, Got it to work.
I converted all the TIFF's to png which reduced their size by about three-quarters.

Funny this.
The same .veg compiled just fine in earlier versions of Vegas and on much slower pc's with much less RAM.
I guess V12 is just not as efficient or perhaps tolerant as the earlier versions.
