Vegas Pro 23 HDR video rendering

Good lordt why is HDR rendering so damn hard....That aside and to get to the point, and yes I've tried googling, and yes my monitor is OLED.

Pretty sure I've done everything right
HDR mode is set to HLG
Pixel Format is set to 32 bit Full Range
Aces colour space set to default
View transform is set to REC 2020

Made sure to change the video properties too

Have tried with PS5 footage captured via an aver media capture card, and with NVIDIA Shadowplay to capture PC footage, both set to record in HDR, but when dropped into Vegas Pro 23 and have made the necessary changes as outlined above, the colour still looks faded.
Just a general question, If anyone else has experience in rendering game footage in HDR, how long does it take and is it worth in the long run?

I don't think PC specs matter in this instance but I'll list them just in case

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
RAM: 64GBs DDR5 Dual Channel
GPU: Asus Tuf RTX 5090
Storage: 2x 2Tb NVME's
OS: Windows 11

And feel free to call me an idiot if I overlooked something obvious or there is a specific setting I haven't ticked.
Thanks for advice in advance

Your Preview Settings are less than optimal.

Try Best/Full

I have, and have turned on HLG in the preview window, but obviously not in the screenshot provided πŸ˜…
It seems to be the output when rendering that's the core issue.
It's weird, even when I have all the obvious options ticked, the video in the timeline doesn't seem to reflect those changes, that is to say both the video preview and the time still looked washed out 😞

Windows does not support HLG preview, best to work in HDR10.

Make sure you have your footage set to the right color space (right click, properties, media, color space, make sure rec2020 (1000 nits) is selected. Try other Rec2020 flavors or HLG presets if you encounter problems)

Make sure HDR mode is on in VEGAS project settings.

Sadly, many VEGAS HDR features are currently not working, but it can render out HDR video.

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

I tried HLG video creation in Vegas Pro 23. Unfortunately this is not easy as the HDR preview is broken. You do not see what you get. Itgets worse when you try to combine HDR and SDR clips. The development team is aware of these issues and is working on a solution. For previewing rendered HLG videos I use VLC. This works great.
