Hello,

I am looking for a card Fire Wire In & out to import my rushes and export the film already done. Some people told me that I could buy a very cheap card (30 to 50 USD) and that it will not change at- all the quality of the picture.
I 've heard about the "Pinnacle Studio DV clip". Does it work with Vegas 4.0?
And another question : Do I need to have a hard disc of 7200 RPM do deal with movies and Vegas 4.0?
Thank you for your help

Buy the cheapest card you can get that is OHCI compliant. You can probably find one in the $20 to $30 range. Do not use the driver disk that comes with it; let Windows install it's own drivers instead. Since it's purely a digital data stream transfer, the quality will not be affected in the slightest, nor will a more expensive card give you a better quality video.

A 7200RPM drive isn't a necessity, but it can help prevent dropped frames especially as the drive gets fuller and more fragmented. There are quite a few folks successfully using 5400RPM drives though. You'll probably quickly discover that you want more drive space anyway, so when you do buy another drive it will probably be 7200RPM or faster.
