Vegas Pro 20 Freezes When Rendering..HELP
The Voukoder render failures were identical to the Magix AVC or Sony AVC render failures. Render would begin and crash 2 hours in either to desktop of Vegas freeze (had to be shutdown via Task monitor).

I never experienced a render crash with Vegas going back to VP13. As it is a 7 hour project, I had gotten tired of checking progress only to find a desktop present. Out of curiosity I may paste into VP19, I tried reset, Voukoder, other render settings etc,

I have the same problem with V20.I copied the same project into V18, it rendered without any problems.

Opening a new Project in a previous Vegas version
Roger, during some render crashes dialogue box asked for details to send. I provided those. 3Point, as there were 4 cameras, two alternating remote from a different location overlapping, its much easier to lay everything on the timeline syncing audio either cutting or picture in picture as appropriate. This has always worked for me. The problem is VP20 render. I have no problems timeline editing. Trying to create mark in mark outs and rendering only sections did not work either. Dropping the whole thing into VP18 rendered flawlessly.

Opening a new Project in a previous Vegas version
3Point, Client wanted one file for the Day. There were other live events during the lectures. Roger, Voukoder crashed as well. Steve, I tried various rendering settings, same result. Dexcon, the timeline cut and paste to VP18 was successful, and the render completed without error in 20 hours with the same output settings as I used in VP20.

Thank you I tried rendering from different spots. First 3 attempts crashed 2 hours in 27%. Then tried rendering loops. Seemed to crash quicker each time. Even removed all FX. Right now VP 18 is at 75%

Opening a new Project in a previous Vegas version
Project is 7 hours long, many edits, so rebuild is torture. PC is fine. Minimal software installed only used for editing. Dexcon, I will try your suggestion. I only use "classic" FX. In this project media is a mix of AVC and EXcam (mpeg2 35mbs).

DV external Capture option now missing in Options/Video VP 20
I wouldn't consider an 8 core AMD with 64GB ram with a Quadro graphics an ancient computer, that runs the latest version of Avid Media Composer ready for the dust bin. I am archiving probably a hundred DV and HDV that were originally outputted to Blu-ray or DVD, and I had found Vegas a quick tool for that purpose. I found the stand alone Vegas app Vidcap60.exe and installed that as a shortcut. As the Vp20 help files indicated IEE capture was supported and the VP20 capture pop up showed "DV camera" as one of the options for capture perhaps you might understand my irritation.

DV external Capture option now missing in Options/Video VP 20
Thank you for the recommendation. So I update to V20 lose DV import, use an app 7 years "dead". Magix render AVC encode crashes, use Voucoder. Seems like a step backwards, no?

Where can I download the previous Vegas 20 build?
I have roll back as the Magix AVC renders are crashing V20 on the new build, did not happen in the prevoius build or V19. I am not using deep learning.

I have not previously had a reason to regress builds. Will this install over the newer build or do I need to uninstall via Windows control panel?

VEGAS Pro 20 Build 326 General Thread
Appears to be the Magix AVC encoder only on the latest V20 build, The Sony AVC encoder works.

Initiated a 20 minute timeline render as Magix AVC 720p. Vegas 19 worked and rendered the exact project and render as without issue.

Just updated 20 to latest build. Been using virtually all versions of Vegas since 13. Crashes 3 minutes into render, never had a Vegas crash before. 19 works fine with same render settings.

Why Vegas is losing me and others
I've used Vegas for some time. Good stability, however updating from previous version is relatively pricey, discouraging yearly updating. Some discount for updating from previous version would be welcome.

OT: How many got hosed by Win10 Anniversary?
Win 10 anniversary on al least 10 machines. The only one with some problems was an Asus eepc notebook with a 30 gig HD and 4G memory. Reverted to the previous 10 build without a hitch.

New Quadro M5000 Very Little Performance Increase
I have been at this a very long time. Unfortunately, NLE usage of video cards does not parallel the operation of computer games, and raw frame rate stats usually do not translate into value for $$$ in NLE operations. Midrange video cards that are not excessively overclocked and properly cooled usually deliver the most stable, cost effective results.

Possible Future of Vegas and NLE
Pay as you go is the dream of all software vendors...steady revenue stream. Producers farming out their work to the lowest bidder -worldwide. Eavesdroppers, corporate, government, all watching every byte.. No thanks.

OT: Are we all ready to 4K?
After checking out a Samsung curved 4k demo in a local retail store, despite some current delivery limitations, I do believe it will gain traction. 1. Most people own still cameras that would display most impressively. 2. The displays themselves are pricing only at a slight price premium. 3. You can sit very close to a high rez display, allowing for a big display in limited space. 4. No glasses, etc required.
