Can I do this with Vegas Pro?
ok... BUT... I... (the graphic girl)... have the Adobe Creative Suite Deisgn Premium which HAS Flash Professional (never used it before - but can learn <grin>)... Sooooo... would I use Vegas Pro to edit video first and then encode into Flash for delivery to the web site? Does Vegas Pro make the background invisible or does Flash? Thank You! gg :-)

"Great use of the lav tie clip mic! The audio is very good. This is Soooo overlooked by a lot of beginners. Sounds really quite good." Thank you paul... CONFESSION #1... cheap $20 mic purchased on ebay... because initial test run audio was baaaaad and external mic was the only way to go... CONFESSION #2... even with tie mic... audio still "tinny" and echoey... as we were in conference room... CONFESSION #3... I have a friend (the one who recommend I buy VegaPro for this project) and he is a musician and audio expert... an hour with him and he helped me EQ and erase the red highs... and a whole bunch of other stuff I cannot even remember... lol.... but he made it sound a lot better... But thank you paul... and I appreciate the spacial suggestions as well... :-) gg :-)

Bob.... soooo sorry I missed your replies... thank you for the suggestions... so when you talk about lighting the wall as one task and the subject as another... are you talking with actual photography lights? or with VegasPro internal lighting/color correction tricks? Thanks again! gg :-)

ooooo autopilot... at first I didn't get what you were saying... and I believe my text has opacity... because it goes from light to dark on oposing backgrounds... BUT... I think I know what you mean... and the opacity of my text does NOT work well on my slides with a varied background... so I am going to experiment with that one.... THANKS! gg :-)

(Grazie... awe thanks! <blush>) Chienworks.... soooooooo true.... and clicking madly away these days.... finding all sorts of nuggets... but some of these buggers are teeeeeeny tiny.... sheesh... hard to see them with these aging eyes of mine.. ;-} But thank yu and I am definitely explorrrrring.... much easier to do now that I don't have a deadline... I always seem to get into panic-mode and can't think straight when the clock is running... and I am in unfamiliar waters (aka video project!)... but looking forward to playing around with lighting... sound... FX... and any other bells and whistles I can find... Thanks also to all the suggestions for SHOOTING my next video... I guess I have a lot to learn... but KNOW I am in the RIGHT place... THANK YOU!!! gg :-)

Thanx to all for compliments and similar stories... I am planning on being a ww "lifer".. Jim - WOW... what a dif... with the lighting... is this secondary color correction plugin included with VP10 or is it purchased separately? Any other instruction or direction on the tweaking? THANKS SO MUCH! gg :-)

Thank you Steve.. yes lighting is one of my downfalls in this thing... especially noticable from the initial close-up to the wide-out... Isn't there a way to beef up the lighting in an already shot video via Vegas? I thought there was but didn't have time to research or implement it... Thanks again... gg :-)

Thanks Jerry... I will look into the "safe area"... I know the sony text thingy wanted to default to a 10% safe area (is that what you are referring to?) but that put the text smack on my bosses hands... which are quite animated... and it was distracting... so I plopped it on the bottom edge... there for legal purposes... but still distracting as heck to ME... but what are ya gonna do??? :-( Also I think when I did that nested crop thingy to get rid of the letterboxing... it also tightened up on my boss so his hands get cut off at times... when he is gesturing... but this wasn't the way I shot it... still I am a HUGE AMATEUR at best... and I KNOW THAT... but I am happy with the results... not bad for an amateur's first attempt... <g> thanks again gg :-) p.s. pic now up on other thread.... man... I *AM* feeling brave today... LOL Have a GREAT day! going to do housework now! :-( but would MUCH rather chat with you all... :-/

LOL... thanks guys... ...and Jer... mmmm... gotta leave something to the imagination... eh??? :-).... ...but actually... if I can find a decent photo... I may just have a go at that... truth be told... as I approaced the big 5-0 with 5-kids-worth of extra baggage... I joined weight watchers online and have lost 55 pounds to date! (YAY!)... I can now fit in my college-daughters' clothes (actually they are too BIG on me... lol)... so I need to get a pic of the "new me"... lol... as your 'puter monitor is not big enough for the "old me" :-O As an aside: My finished video (with disclaimer) is up on brainshark and looks GREAT! Thanks AGAIN!!! Is anyone interested in critiquing my first video project (gently please as the... lighting bad, sound not so great, LOTS I *could* do with it if I had the time and KNEW HOW)... lol... but NEXT TIME... I just had to get SOMETHING up there.... Sooooo if anyone wants to check out my 4-minute (4:22) video... tell me how/where to put it so you can see it.... It is .wmv format and 16MB. (and the brainshark site is private access so you can't see it there... sorry...) Thanks AGAIN! gg :-)

WOT: spanish translation
OK maybe I *can* be of help... lol I majored in Spanish many many years ago in college ;-p and before my current marketing gig.. was a substitute teacher for 2 Spanish classes in a high school... HOWEVER that being said... even *I* am not comfortable translating for print media or video when the intended audience is NATIVE speakers... For what it is worth... from what I have read in this thread... your use of seguridad is correct... BUT... please do NOT use Babelfish... I used to tell my students NOT to (it does a *LITERAL* translation that is WRONG more often than it is right...) ....AND as a "gringa"... even *I* could spot a babelfish translation a mile away... :-/ You *really* need the assistance of a native speaker... and based on *MY* recent experiences on this forum... I am guessing with your accurate subject line... you *should* be getting some assistance from the WONDERFUL folks here... :-))) GOOD LUCK... (and NO Babelfish... PLEASE!) :-) gg :-)

Awwwweee Jer... you are such a sweetheart! THANK YOU... have downloaded and am about to watch it... may I ask where you got it from so I may peruse for other training videos... I recently had to learn another realllllly complicated financial analysis software... and their site had tons of these training videos that were MOST HELPFUL to me... So... thank you again! and again! and again! YOU ROCK!!!! :-) gg getting another cup of coffee, some popcorn, and settling in to watch my new training video (ok maybe its too early for popcorn but DEF getting some more java! :0)

Thank You Jay... excellent advice... I will go try the help out... actually I am usually a big fan of help in most software programs... meanwhile I just deleted and recreated (AGAIN) and am doing a test render now... Jerry... also thank you... you have been such a patient helper... :-) but actually my problem is getting to that box... I am really comfortable working within it... once I can open it... but finding the little bugger has been my issue... I even tried snapping it into my other open boxes along the top (like the preview pane etc)... and according to the drop downs... Alt+9 should open this panel but it doesn't work... Thanks to all once again... and I even hesitated to post this questions as it was sooooo basic and stupid... kind of like... "what's a path" when I am telling someone to do a save as and change the path... basic computing skills... and I will figure Vegas out... eventually... it uses panels like my Adobe creative suite... it just has a LOT more buttons and gadgets... :-/ Thanks again and sorry.... gg still rendering... and HATE the disclaimer text at bottom... but gotta do it for legal... :-(

Oh BOY... I reeeeeallllllly need to take a class or somethiing... Was able to add text (several times :-()... but CANNOT figure out how to open and edit the text to change size... placement... etc... can do work around by simply DELETING and REDOING with my handy-dandy preset (thanks Jerry!)... but what a PITA... and I knoooooow it has got to be something really EASY and stupid... but there are just soooo many options and buttons and menus... I have right and left clicked just about everything... once I actually STUMBLED ONTO "Edit generated media"... but cannot find it again... Sooooo how do I OPEN the generated text media editor where my preset is to EDIT it??? :-( (sorry I am SUCH a newbie... but all this trial and error IS helping me learn... :-) gg frustrated in Chicago... :-(

Thank You Jerry... thank GOODNESS you taught me to do that last time after all the render trials we wnt through... as I would have NO idea what worked... but SAVED the template... YAY! And thanks for the reminder to do it again! I wouldn't have thought of it and since I expect to be doinging tthis SO SELDOMLY... templates are EXCELLENT advice! ONCE AGAIN YOU GUYS ROCK!
