Does VP13 automatically create 4K proxies?

Page 102 of the VP13 manual states, “Proxy files are created automatically when working with 4K video”.

Based on this, I would expect that when I put a 4K clip on the timeline VP13 will detect it is 4K and automatically generate a proxy file (.sfvp0), but it doesn't. Am I missing something? Is this a bug? I’m using a Sony AX100 camcorder in case that matters.

One more proxy question, when I am completely done with a project and want to delete all proxies, is there a option somewhere to have VP13 delete the proxies?

Make sure it is enabled under "Preferences" / "Video" Tab. I recommend you use Vegasaur for creating proxies, you will have a lot more control over the proxies and their format.

yes, when enabled VP13 is meant to create auto proxy - which is a painless and transparent procedure - but you really don't have a control over the process.
I prefer Gearshift, but Vegasaur is also a good environment for controlling proxy generation. ASFAIK - proxy generation is a goto requirement for 4k workflows - so it pays to learn a lot about proxy generation and its usage.
