Dolby Digital AC-3 (*.ac3)

Eric-Sh schrieb am 20.01.2022 um 23:52 Uhr

I have Vegas Pro 17 editing software. The button on rendering column shows I should be able to use Dolby Digital AC-3 (*.ac3,) but when I try creating a audio file it will not work and will not produce a Dolby Digital AC-3 (*.ac3) audio file from a wav. file, or any other format I have tried. All other formats listed work such as AAC, mp2, etc when I try to make those specific formats from a wav file. It's when I try making a Dolby Digital AC-3 (*.ac3) , it will not work. A support email I received states it's a licensing issue with Dolby, I guess it's expired. SO, what I need to know is there a virus free trusted converter software out there I can use to download to turn a wav file into Dolby Digital AC-3 (*.ac3.) or which software if there is such a thing that I can buy to convert a Wav. file to a Dolby Digital AC-3 (*.ac3). I just need to know how I can accomplish doing this, or the software needed to do this conversion with the simplest approach available. I did look online and saw a couple converting software packages such as Switch, but it will only import Dolby Digital AC-3 (*.ac3) to convert to other formats. It says nothing in the specs about exporting a Dolby Digital AC-3 (*.ac3)

Version 17.0 (Build455)

Vegas DVD Architect is included with this software.

Thanks for any help. year is 2022 January 20

There is no Sony Pro 17, only Vegas Pro 17 which presumably you have? If so what is its build number and from where did you obtain it?

I think HOS has a script for AC-3 Pro. Search this and VP video forum, In any case, there are lots of topics on the AC-3 studio/pro dilemmas.

@ EricLNZ Thanks, I edited that to Vegas Pro 17. Where do you find the build number? I bought it online, and I can't remember for sure maybe Amazon. The software has 4 buttons to press in render for Dolby Digital AC-3 (*.ac3) they just don't render out. When I hit render the pop screen just disappears. no file is created.

@Eric-Sh

I have the same issue with Vegas Pro 17. I never noticed in the time that I used that version because I haven't willingly made any DVDs or Blu-ray discs for a while. When I build my next system, I'll likely install Vegas Pro 19 and Vegas Pro 13 (just because) skipping all the versions in between. If I only had Vegas Pro 17 on the machine I'd likely use Happy Otter Scripts for creating AC3.

Is this easy enough for you?
