Mercalli V2 SAL Fails with "Expired"

ChipGallo schrieb am 09.10.2010 um 19:27 Uhr
I upgraded to V2 and it installed and ran. Then I received a notification from proDAD about a "free" update on 9/30/10. Now it always fails with "expired" and a brief flash of the stand-alone program which then closes. I have uninstalled everything, deleted the registry entries, rebooted, you name it.

I e-mailed proDAD and told them about this. Anyone experience this with Mercalli V2 and have a solution? Otherwise I was very impressed with the brief use I had.

I actually had the opposite happen. My original version 2 expired and then I updated to 2.0.3920 Tech r65 update and it all works now. I didn't do anything special other that uninstall the old version and re-install the new one.

Strange. My original version 2 did not expire and I installed v 2.03920 over the top of v2, as per Prodad's instructions, and no problems.

I had the same thing happen. I emailed their support guys and Uwe was kind enough to send me a new download link as the old one was useless (downloaded the same file and the Expired) message came up.

I am running win 7 and couldn't get the 64 bit plugin installer to work right until I ran it under Vista compatibility mode - then it installed fine. Just FYI in case you run into installation trouble.

With your encouragement, I went to the last link in the original V2 SAL notification. It got version 3931 R66 which seems to be starting fine. Not sure what I had downloaded before, it was a link from element5 and this one tonight is from proDAD. My bad I think.

No fault here.

After my initial purchase, and download, I recently received a communication from ProDAD inviting me to download the latest version, which I did. But prior to installing I checked what i had installed, and got the  expired notification.

I downloaded, and discovered a file that was on the same date as my month-old purchase date. Odd.

I then communicated directly with ProDAD and was given another download link and this time when I installed over the existing standalone, it is now working perfectly and I don't get the expired notification and it works as I expect.

No, I really don't think it is/was an issue for this user. Sounds to me your experience was similar to mine.

Thanks Grazie - I got as far as finding the "new" download with the same date as the first, and got diverted - I shall now contact ProDad as you did!
