Quicktime install error, "file cannot be found in "Quicktime.cab"

I initially tried the two versions of Quicktime that have had for quite some time, and I got the same error message on install, then the install rolls back, is cancelled. In case the two Quicktime install files had become corrupted, I went online and downloaded another one, but got the same result. I tried disabling the Symanted AV, didb't work.

"The file 'ul_catalog.98CB24AD_52FB_DB5F_FF1F_CRB3B9A1E18E' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'Quicktime.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package."

Ok, found the solution on the web, should have looked there first, but no harm to have this here anyway.

The recommendation is to uninstall all Apple apps. I had iTunes installed, so I removed all of the items with an "Apple" in them plus iTunes. The install went ok then.

I installed version 7.79.80.95. My recollection is that a previous, older version may be better? if anyone knows, do tell, maybe @Musicvid? The older one I have is 7-76-80-95.
