Your best bet Eugenia is to try what I do with cineform. I convert to cineform, import, then ungroup the audio and delete the entire audio track. I then import the original MTS files, ungroup and delete the entire mts Video track. What I'm left with is the cineform video track and the 5.1 soundtrack from the original mts files.

Rosebud,
Great script, but default avi's from mxf seem corrupt (it renders to 100%, but only saves some short, invalid mxf.avi file).

Do I need to change sth in the output configuration?

Megabit,
Do you know where I can find some mxf sample files please ?
I need to make test.

I tried again, and it saved a valid avi file this time... Will report if I find the culprit.

If I understand this correctly, this script will convert files and "link" them somehow to proxy files. Is there any way to "link" existing HQ and LQ versions of files?

Rosebud,

I really like your script. Thanks! I just tried it in Vegas Pro 9 and it appears that because of the way the render templates are now handled (plus possibly other issues) the script does not work. Is there any chance thay you will be releasing a version for Vegas Pro 9?

Rich,
Which error are you getting?
I have some problem on one of my computer, but my scripts works fine on another one.
rich__r schrieb am 13.05.2009 um 14:03 Uhr
Well I did not get as far as an error. As I recall; no templates show up in the list and when I click on Custom the displayed dialog is blank. I'll try it again tonight when I get home to get you some more accurate info (I was trying a lot of things yesterday and the exact behavior I described may not be accurate).

An update on what I am seeing. On an irregular basis (i.e., one time tonight) when I start the Proxy Stream script Vegas Pro 9 crashes. I don't really think this is related to your script, I see this unexplained crashing behavior in other cases. What I am seeing is that for most render types you cannot use the Custom button from the script, the result dialog is blank and unusable (that does not seem to be the case for Video for Windows - but most of the others exhibit the problem). So, I just went into File -> Render As... to define my template. Once I had the template defined then the script seems to run fine. So although there are some minor usability issues with Vegas Pro 9, they are easily worked around.

Is there going to be a Vegas Pro 9 version of this? Its an awesome tool! But we need it updated to support the new version of Vegas.

Geez Yes! Please try to get this wonderful script to work in Vegas Pro 9.0c properly. I have been looking for something like this to efficiently batch render my HX1 mp4 files to mxf. Oddly, there is nothing that will do this as well. Only problem is, at least on my machine and VP9c, the script freezes up and lists out program notes instead of rendering. Thanking you in advance!
Rosebud schrieb am 29.10.2009 um 12:02 Uhr
I tested it with VP9.0c and all works fine for me (except the Custom button, but you can create your preset in VP).
Have you this issue with all file types and render templates ?
DigVid schrieb am 29.10.2009 um 13:10 Uhr
Yes, the script does seem to work (mostly) as long as "custom" is not selected AND I don't try to save to the AVC format (either Sony or MainConcept), haven't tried all codecs. However, If I do just pick AVC, then the script closes down and the program notes appear, as mentioned.

Your script still helps me, anyway, as I can now batch render my mp4 files to mxf, which makes them efficient and effortless to edit in VP9. However, I just don't seem to be able to batch to mp4 files.

Thanks again for your expertise in this matter...

Proxy Stream1.5b is available for VP9:

-Proxy Stream 1.5b works with VP9 only.
-Added ability to anable/disable Switches (Resample, Maintain Aspect Ratio and Reduce Interlace Flicker).
-Proxy file have same creation time and last write time attributs as source file. So you can use SVDTS script
from Paavo Jurvelin with proxy files ( see at http://www.svdts.com )

I downloaded and like this script, but I need the ability to add burn in timecode to the created proxy video files. Can this be added via a check box? Is the author reading this?

I can manually do this by importing my clip and choosing the script to "add time code to all media" and then rendering out to a proxy render setting. But, it would be a huge time saver if this script could add that option and I could batch them. It would need a checkbox to activate and a pulldown menu to choose timecode settings.

Or, does anyone know of a similar script that can do this? That is batch convert files to a specific render setting for proxy files, adding existing timecode as a burn in window to the video? Thank you.

First of all thanks for this great script!

Can this convert to 1080p 60fps mxf?

It seems that custom menu only allows either 720p 60fps OR 1080p 30fps but not 1080p 60fps. Am I missing something here?

I would like to use this script to convert my AVCHD 1080p 60fps to make some nice mxf hi res slow motion videos of some animal / nature clips that I can edit in Vegas.

Currently I'm not able to edit these in Vegas 9

Thanks!
Byron

A very nice script, but will you update it to work in Vegas 9 64 bit? It shows up on the list, and it loads, but when you want to convert it gives an error.

Also, it has a bug, if you move or delete the last folder that you were working on, then you can't load it anymore, it shows an error and that's it.

Other than that, great script, but it would be great if it worked in 64 bit to avoid switching back and forth between 32 and 64 bit Vegas when you need to swap the files.

I don't have a 64 bits OS to make test, but some users from my French forum use this script on Seven 64bits without any problem (Vp9.d 64b)

Ok, bug added to my list.

That's weird, I also have Windows 7 64 bit and I can't get it to work. It loads, and I can select the files and everything, but as soon as I click on convert it dies. I'll show you a screenshot of the error to see if you can see what's wrong:

OK, I tried to do the img tag but it doesn't work for some reason, so here's a link to it:

Sebaz,

It's not a script error, it's a Windows security exception,
Give administrator privileges to Vegas and it should work fine.

How do I do that in Windows 7 64?

EDIT: OK - I think I figured it out: browse to the location of the program on your hard drive - for me c:program files>Sony>Vegas Pro 9.0>vegas90.exe

Right click on the vegas90.exe file choose "properties". On the "Compatibility" tab scroll down to "Privilege Level" and check the box that says "Run this program as an administrator". That seems to allow me to run the Proxy Stream script in Vegas 9 without issue.

EDIT 2: However, now the User Account Control window/warning pops up when I start Vegas 9. Any ideas how to avoid that?

You can see if you are logged in and working as an Administrator.
To check this Click: Start, Control Panel, User Accounts.

Verify that your account says Administrator under it.

If it doesn't, select your User Account and Click: Change your account type and click the Administrator radio button

If you can't click the radio button or if it's greyed out you'll have to log out and log back in as Administrator.

It's not a script error, it's a Windows security exception,

My account is the only account in my computer, and it's an administrator one. Still, I opened the security properties for the Vegas90.exe (64 bit) and my user name had read and execute privileges but not full control, so I gave it full control, but still the same problem happens. The only way I found to run the script successfully in 64 bit is to run Vegas as administrator, with the right click menu option that Windows has for every program.

However, I don't understand why this script needs Vegas to start that way in 64 bit but not in the 32 bit version. Also, I don't understand why does it require administrator privileges since the steps it does are the same as a user that opened Vegas would do to convert these files one by one. Basically it puts a file in the timeline, and renders it as the format that you specify. Does this make sense?
