Why Ease of Editing (Vegas I think is the king of this) is important

@Rednroll, I've been using Reaper for the last year or so recording our worship team through the XR18, and now, X32 Rack. It's a program that has a ton of tutorials and is always being updated. It costs way less than the others except the free ones now available.

My music editing needs are light since a lot of what I do is from within the X32 Rack. Reaper integrates easily into the live recording using the Behringer X-Touch Universal in addition to the the X32 Rack.

And people can use Reaper indefinitely as a trial. I paid.

Yep, I've been watching Reaper since it's original release. Mainly been just sticking with Acid Pro due to my familiarity working with Vegas but it seems Acid has become the redheaded step child of neglect at this point. Really feel it's not a true 64bit host when I've got my internet browser open with a few tabs open, outlook and Sound Forge running in the background and I launch Acid and it shows me this error message and becomes unstable.

My system has 32GB of memory and resource monitor showed only 35% was currently being used when I see that message. Betting Magix did what they could to make Acid 64bit compatible but at the heart it's likely still a 32bit host.

I'm not seeing the problems in Reaper that I find myself running into with Acid Pro. Now that I got some of the interface change barriers reduced with Reaper, I feel it's time to make the switch rather than dealing with Acid's continuous problems.

Also used Reaper with my X-Touch One and worked flawlessly while Acid Pro was glitchy at best. All signs pointing me towards it's time to make the switch to Reaper.

I've noticed that when 32bit software is "updated" to 64bit, it's really not a true 64bit software.

I had to reluctantly move from the Amiga to the PC to edit videos after years of using a computer that was way ahead of it's time. I had no love for Windows and the Intel powered PC's. I had a Quadra Mac that I gave away because I just didn't like it.

The transition to the DPS Editbay was sort of easy. And when you only have one PC choice left, you have to make it work. Ahh... the joys of letting the PIII 450 render over night......
