WOT: My Posting Frequency

amendegw schrieb am 30.09.2013 um 02:41 Uhr
In another thread, musicvid & johnmeyer commented on the fact that my posting frequency has slowed significantly. I still browse this forum once or twice a week and still shoot an occasionally video, but my time is now spent mostly on a rekindled interest in still photography - mostly nature & wildlife (I love shooting bald eagles).

If anyone is interested, here's a slideshow of my Recent Favorites

Enjoy!

love the opening slide of chick!

what you shooting with?

since my hearings deteriorating i've sort of shuffled over to more stills - but my income is still in general derived from video (though that's mostly shooting - post is getting to be too trying with complicated audio mixes).

"Someone" needs to compile that slideshow in Vegas and put it on Youtube!

I think about you frequently. Like yesterday, when I shot this.

ok, i'm stumped - how do i show a flickr image - not just a simple link? checked markup but it's not working?
Grazie schrieb am 30.09.2013 um 06:19 Uhr
Yeah, if you have, try removing the "s" in the https part of the link, make it "http" no quotes.

hi grazie....

well here's the link as per (img=) markup:

then again, it's not actually a .jpg but unfortunately i don't see how to grab a link to the actual pic on flickr. am i missing something terribly obvious?

and here's using (link=)

http://www.flickr.com/photos/leslie-wand/5921620426/

which just goes live....

OKAY: flickr rules require you to link back to the photo page itself for any photo posted off-site, so just grabbing the JPG address is not sufficient

workaround, copy embed code and extract image location from it.

i mean the picture wasn't worth this kerfuffle in the first place....

I removed the JPG Link . .

Thanks for the nice comments. I'll post some detailed replies later today (I'm off pre-dawn to shoot more birds!).

Very quickly, to post an image from Flickr:

1) Right-click on your Flickr image and choose "View As"

2) This takes you to another screen where you can either choose another size or right-click on this new image and select "Properties". This gives you the URL of the actual (sized) image which you can copy & paste back to this forum as an img.

Okay, I'm back from a morning of shooting. Got nothing today. Waited 45 minutes for a #@&%! Kingfisher to return, but he outlasted me.
@ushere
Last year I sold my Panny AC130 and bought a Canon 7D / 400mm F5.6. Since then I've upgraded to a 500mm F/4.0. Anxiously awaiting the release of the 7D Mk II (if it ever comes).

Pretty little lizard, Leslie. Someday, I'd love go to the Outback to shoot. Such a lovely variety of unique animals. Well Captured.
@musicvid
Yeah, I might just put something together for YouTube. btw: all the discussion & tutelage you've provided on levels has helped immensely with PS processing. I'm forever grateful!

Wow! That's Jazzy's Doppelganger. I that your dog? What's his/her name? A handsome dog!

"That's Jazzy's Doppelganger."

That's exactly what I thought when I saw it. I followed it around, It followed me around.

"Is that your dog?"

The dog belongs to a retired IBM PSR, (you likely know what that means). I went to a backyard picnic with a group of long retired old friends from my IBM days.

"What's his/her name?"

It told me but I forgot. I do that a lot.

"A handsome dog!"

It is, in deed. It brings joy to ones heart.

Outstanding shots Jerry !! I would love to have that lens (well, the Nikon equiv.), but somehow, I suspect my wife would get suspicious when she saw that charge on the credit card. Without even looking at my favorite B&H, I know a 400mm F4.0 prime lens is well out of my price range.

Mikey,

Thank God the market was up this year [grin].

And thanks for the compliment on the shots. While I'm proud of my photos, as with most things in life, there's always someone better. A guy I shoot with just bought an 800mm Nikon - $18k!!. Big time lens envy!
