  That bug was apparently fixed in b356... if that's the base of the coming build it should already be fixed. I've done a number of large projects from start to finish with b356 and the audio mixdowns render and play fine. Never noticed it in b302

  The phase inversion method could work. Aside from the steps @DMT3 mentioned, you also have to balance the mix of the two tracks to get the cancelation that you want. Possibly, you might have to deal with stereo balance, too.

  There is text opacity mentioned above by @MikeS and you can also adjust it from 100 down to zero within the text event. If it is all the way at the bottom, it is hard to see it. Also, what about the Compositing Mode on that track?
