    Prores
Hi everyone, question, is it worth converting my video files on my GoPro MP4 to Prores? I seen people say its speeds up editing. I have an old GoPro Black 5. Running Vegas Pro 22, Windows 11. i7 64 GB RAM, 6 GB video ram, GoPro 5 Black is H.264

RE: Are you EU people shooting in 30P if it's a purely youtube project?
Hi, just to add my bit. I've always filmed with my phone & a GoPro, at the moment that is a Samsung S23 Ultra & a GoPro11. (UHD HEVC) They both come preset at 30p & I want both to match as close as poss so that's what I use, + I can't

    RE: Prores
You shouldn't need to convert H.264 (AVC) to ProRes for use in Vegas Pro 22. Pre VP22, even less so if your GoPro video is HD rather than UHD. I found that GoPro HEVC (H.265) video needed to be transcoded to another format because back then, VP had

RE: File I/O -> Experimental HEVC decoding: Has severe problem with a clip
Thank you for uploading a sample of your GoPro HEVC video. On both my desktop and laptop (both VP22 b250) with 'Experimental HEVC decoding' off, the video played smoothly (Best/Auto) and the clock/timer updated instantly. On the other hand - and on

RE: File I/O -> Experimental HEVC decoding: Has severe problem with a clip
@John-Callahan I noticed a very big improvement with GoPro HEVC after VP21 build (300) - Experimental unticked/off, I too now don't have it turned on, so If you're getting better performance with it off leave it off. I believe the 'experimental' was

RE: File I/O -> Experimental HEVC decoding: Has severe problem with a clip
Experimental HEVC decoding was useful for me with GoPro 11 HEVC video in Vegas Pro 21 because it reduced the amount of stuttering on the timeline (not completely though). From various posts on the forum, the Vegas team have been developing VP's

RE: Are you EU people shooting in 30P if it's a purely youtube project?
@3POINT ... Today's TV'S and PC monitors are not depending on the 50/60Hz electricity frequency of the local network. I completely and fully understand that, but the video in my projects is substantially sourced from other cameras which are

RE: Are you EU people shooting in 30P if it's a purely youtube project?
@3POINT  ... Optical flow rendering in Vegas is a pita, takes ages...try (and compare) optical flow in DR. Totally agreed that rendering in DR with Optical Flow is so much faster than in VP - and DR has bulk rendering which is really great. When

File I/O -> Experimental HEVC decoding: Has severe problem with a clip
I have been using the option in preferences: File I/O ->Enable experimental HEVC decoding. I noticed recently whilst rendering a series of clips (11 clips = 8min 26sec) that at about 46% into the render it slowed down substantially. Using a
