RE: Question for users of the Wolverine or Kodak style 8mm film xfer
@DMT3 Hi, I have the Wolverine Movie Maker Pro. It records to 1080, 4:3, or 1440x1080 at 20fps. If you go for a Wolverine, get this one, not the less expensive one that records at 720 and can't take large reels. I estimated that it would cost me

RE: Vegas 21 (315) Lag when handling clips (Trimming and Moving)
What version were you using? You said you skipped 300 and 314- did you also skip 21.315? 22.93 is a refined version of 21.315 in my opinion. The old versions like 21.208 used so4compound decoder for HEVC (and benefited from Intel QSV decoding).

RE: Vegas 22 Pro - HDR still unusable (for me)
The two users Yelandkeil and mark-y tend to post again nonsense. For example, nobody stated that there is a Dolby Vision HDR decoder in Vegas. mark-y does not own an HDR monitor, but he beliefes that he can say something about HDR at all - and post

RE: Variable frame rate being an issue?
I wonder what is the reason for phone's using VFR? I recall that someone on the forum a few years ago suggested that it was to keep video file sizes to a minimum. If there's not much movement in what's being filmed, then the phone reduces the

A truly incredible review by Rob Svm on the FB Vegas Editors group.
I will always stay with Vegas. I was editing a weekly TV show with it for 5 years and was doing it in 4k when the other producers only rendered in 2k. I bought every Vegas pro version (since v6) because it is the most logical workflow that stacks up

RE: How can I list ALL the codecs installed on my platform?
Blackmagic MJPEG codec is an older, proprietary codec. It may be installed as a hardware capture codec on your card. Vegas uses your system software codecs. And only some of them that meet strict licensure requirements. Nonpartnered Proprietary

RE: 10 Bit Video in Vegas Pro 22 - What Project Settings to Use?
First thing you need to ask yourself... what is my target format? Most target formats are 8 bit... DVD, Blu-Ray (except 4K Blu-Ray), broadcast TV, etc. are all 8 bit. The only delivery format that is 10 bit is HDR. Youtube, Facebook, Instagram,

Problems when attempting to debug inside Vegas
Ed, I've downloaded your Test Script from the Feb 21 getting started videos. It's a self-contained solution. So hopefully there's no risk of contamination from the solution I've been working on for a while. I did have to re-add the reference to my

Magix Interview: Investor defines future product strategy

RE: New to Vegas-editing years of home videos
Thanks everyone so far. My main initial concern has been selecting a capture codec so as to not run these old tapes multiple times. As these are home movies shot on various cameras to vhs and camcorders 1980-1998, averaging 1-2hrs each in length, my

10 bit 422 HEVC only decodes with Intel GPUs. 420 decodes with any GPU for better performance without proxy files. Try 32 bit full with view transform off as a high bit alternative to 8 bit full. I assume you are shooting log, otherwise you may

Vegas 21 (315) Lag when handling clips (Trimming and Moving)
Good Day,   I have a new bug for version 315 Vegas Pro 21. These two things might be related, and I'm hoping someone has a workaround. 1.) When I try to Trim all my media, I get lag where it is jumpy when trying to trim it 2.) Sometimes, and not

@RogerS that is very kind of you to offer but the issue with that is...giving you a raw video file (which was shot in VLog) is not going to be as useful, because it's out of context. The footage in question is in a session with lots of other stuff
