A quick Google search found an answer here: http://forums.techguy.org/games/414425-having-trouble-fraps-audio-recording.html It doesn't appear to be a VMS problem at all, but your headset.

Render gamma out of my control

Can't render 720-pixel width

Adjust source media issue... and solution
