RE: OT: Windows 10
I am almost exclusively a listener on this forum, and have learned almost everything I know about editing with Vegas Pro from the knowledgeable, patient, generous and good-humored folks who engage here. And I'm not referring to anyone in particular

The new denoise algorithm is of the most interest to me. Core Intel QuickSync Video Encode / Decode support. Windows only currently. We hope to bring this to Linux in the future but not for 0.10. DXVA Hardware Decode

RE: anyone here editing/rendering out 4K files?
Yeah I work exclusively in 4k now, having done over 40+ shoots with my AX100 4k video camera. I don't edit on a 4k display just yet, I edit on a 30" Dell that is 2560x1600 resolution. Works well enough for now, I'm basically waiting until quality 4k

RE: How to get direct support from Sony Vegas ?
On the other side, I've paid for support and it was outstanding, on the phone for several lengthy phone calls, issue resolved. The techy knew his stuff.

RE: In praise of GPU rendering
Thanks again guys for taking time to reply! I'll reply generally below: "The reason is because 0 - 255 is not legal for video. Only 16 - 235 is legal for video. You fix it using Levels and Color Curves." Does that still apply if the videos will

All video files are delivered on my websites, they are websites where people sign up and can stream or download videos. I have full control over the delivery path since I wrote all the websites which is great because I'm not bound by limitations

RE: In praise of GPU rendering
Cool thanks for the detailed info! Definitely some stuff for me to digest. I know off the bat that there are some suggestions that won't work for me though. For example I can't change my low res 180p video from baseline to main, because that version

Right now they are giving the option of a lifetime license purchase or a subscription. From my email: Media Composer ® | Software is the NLE that professional film and TV editors trust the most. And now you have the choice to subscribe for only

Well, as they say, your mileage may vary. I find DVD Architect 5 (both Studio and Pro) pretty much flawless with my workflow. And I find their phone support, as well as the support on these forums, terrific. Fortunately, there is no shortage of

Same here - no problems with IE. I have more problems with my landline phone with scammers ringing saying that they're from XXXX computer company (originally from Microsoft tech support) and they've identified a problem with my computer - including

Activation problem - How to reach Sony?
Veteran user here. In the past when the activation limit is exceeded it was easy to just submit info via the help form, and they would lift the limit. I did that... 5 days ago, with no response and can't find a phone number to reach them! It has

Well, the OP joined on 12/20/2012 and then complained about SCS support on 12/21. Presumably he has been waiting for that support response until he finally ran out of patience today. I jest. Seriously, If SCS could respond to free support requests

Don't knock Sony's free e-mail support...
My son's ipod isn't resetting and I need to either travel ~40 miles to have them take a look or pay $20 for a phone call/chat. Yeah, their free support isn't necessarily the fasted and doesn't always help, but I've got to go out of my way for Apple

The chat service is OK. It is not for tech support however so if that's your goal you'll have very short chat and they'll open a traditional ticket for you. However if your issue is simple or registration related the chat is helpful. Perhaps it
