RE: [Solved] What is the best resize filter for video?
In AviSynth terminology, I think Lanczos3 is pretty similar to Spline36, and Lanczos4 is pretty similar to Spline64. It partly depends on whether you're upscaling or downscaling. Lanczos4 is often said to be better for upscaling, but introduces too

RE: [Solved] How to bypass Zoom Limitations Using the Pan and Crop Tool?
Peter Wright in this thread: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/this-forum-needs-a-search-bar-asap--103136/ Posts a solution which is: "I would use track motion to do this." "You can use track keyframes to return a track to "Normal"

[Solved] Smooth Start/Stop in Pan/Crop
Folks, is there a way to slow the ends of a pan in Vegas 9? The sort of thing you'd aim for with a fluid head; where the motion starts and ends smoothly rather than abruptly? I imagine it could be achieved by using lots of differently spaced

Animation masking/connection issue help
Howdy, it's been ages since I've done any work in Vegas, so I'm learning a bunch of the new tools, and basically re learning a bunch of video editing. I'm currently using Vegas Pro 21, and I have the suite but am unfamiliar with the rest of it at

Feature Request (Extract and process frames from a motion JPEG image)
How can I extract frames from an MJPG (Motion JPG) image taken with my smartphone (S23 Utra) using Vegas Pro? (Currently if imported into Vegas Pro they become simple JPGs). Thanks to all the developers who can help

RE: Bug: Media that causes Motion Tracking problems in Vegas 22 build 122
@Robert Johnston The freeze is caused by Motion Tracking returning a Low Track Count and has been reported. A workaround is to start mid clip, track forward and then backwards. Or track backwards from the end. I've just tried both methods and no

RE: New to Vegas. Videostudio user. Crossfade doesn't work.
Can you make a screen recording of these, which will help everyone understand what you mean. I am assuming you mean in VideoStudio... correct? Also, are you asking for photos or video? I suppose a video will work, though I am not if I can post that

RE: VEGAS Pro 23 Bug: Timeline Events Lag After Ungrouping Video/Audio
Thanks @Abdali, now I see what you are reporting. It's not an issue with playback but rather moving the audio or video once ungrouped. My normal workflow involves unrelated audio and video tracks so I didn't notice this. Yes, you've described the

RE: Motion Tracking using Brick Wall .png as Background
I understand what your saying, and thanks for your response. As you suggest, each .png family pick is on a separate track. I'll investigate your Track Transparency suggestion. That process sounds equally complicated because you have to match the

RE: Upgraded version but mask presets and settings did not transfer.
@Curtis This is how I transfer all my pan/crop masks. See my comment at the bottom of this thread. Thank you so much I'm doing something similar to your solution. I still have Vegas Pro 20 installed so I just have that open and I'm copying the

RE: How to work with timeline from the text "location" timeline?
If i want text to move with a characters head or body then it's extremely difficult. I presumed from that statement that the OP wanted to attach text to a moving object. I want it to be above a object/person and move along with them. Using the

Vegas 22 Bezier Masking Crashes Vegas
I'm using Vegas Pro 22. I have what seems to be to be a simple need for a Bezier mask. In my video some text fades in then fades out over a period of about 5 seconds. The text is against a pure black background. I want a mask to block the text that

RE: Sony CX405: Which format to use with XA10
On a lot of commercial movie DVDs, you can rip the authentic 24p video from the disc, which is just flagged as 29.97i / 59.94i NTSC, taking away the motion stutter or cadence. I've got an example somewhere.

RE: How To Apply Motion Tracking to a Pan/Crop (Have The 'Camera' Follow)
@GrantTheHierophant You can apply motion tracking data to a Picture-in-Picture event, but not to the event pan/crop positions, unless someone has written a script for it. There is/was a script that applied motion data to a PIP effect. But that is no

RE: MP4 Video from VirtualDub crashed Vegas 21
@Mykee If you're using the original VirtualDub, that's pretty old. Using VirtualDub2 64-bit, I can render directly to avc/mp4 using ffmpeg-x264 which Vegas reads fine. Btw, the frame rate is kind of high... unless its for slow motion you might want

RE: 360° text in sphere
I have a 360 8K video which was edited well. Is this a video of the still camera or moving? If it moving, it seems that you want to pin text into 360° video like motion tracking? As far as I know, Mocha Pro can do that.

@Anthony-Burbury I think you're referring to the issue where Vegas freezes after the motion tracking tool returns a Low Track Count when the mode is Perspective. This is a known issue and will be fixed. In the meantime, try to avoid a low track

RE: copy "frame size" from one video event to some video events
Copy/paste using "selectively paste ..." clearly doesn't have a copy/paste frame size option ... and I don't think that there is such an option to copy/paste frame size dimensions from one video event to another. If there is, I'd really like to know

@Uytkownik-Vegasa I'm not sure what you want, but you could use parent track motion to add a shadow at once to multiple events on different tracks.

JPEG motion image sequences are individual files, like any other still pictures, grouped and numbered in order. You can easily import whole JPEG Image Sequences into Vegas using the command. Open->Image Sequence. You can specify the duration of

RE: can certain default settings be changed?
You can go through all keyframes after the fact and change them to whatever type you want them to be using a script. I'll work up a tutorial that shows changing: Envelopes (velocity, volume, mute, etc... These are "smooth" by default but the script
