RE: bizzare bug kills vegas
by the way, the "hot rod guy" was a salesman at http://www.adkvideoediting.com/ and I was about to buy a new system till he said that. I assumed he would not say that on a sales call unless it was true. I guess it might have been a misunderstanding.

RE: 8.0c exception error, project opens in 8.1
Definitely not. It just crashed on it's one, when minimized. I did look closer to the .bak file opened in 8.1 and all is not well. Some of the files are missing any audio so continuing in there is not an option. I just uninstalled 8.0c and

RE: Follow VMS wizards, DVDA still wants to recompress
Looks like I'm not the only person with this issue at some point. Too bad none of the links came up with a solution. These are all people who tried to keep the settings DVDA friendly but came to the dreaded "24p not supported in this product"

RE: Interlaced HD to DVD AGAIN - some test renders
Some of the scripts are reporting errors but maybe my media is at fault. For example ‘YUV requires YUV input’. That's not in Nick's simplified script Geoff. If you are referring to the script with this line: ColorYUV(levels="TV->PC") That

RE: Interlaced HD to DVD AGAIN - some test renders
I am also starting with HDV in both 60i and 50i flavours so that shouldn't be the problem. The typical method I am using is to frameserve out of Vegas in RGB24 format. The AviSynth script should accept that and then convert it to YUY2. I'm wondering

Firstly, brilliant tip on TakeColor. Thanks for that. Secondly, apologies if anyone's eardrums are ruptured. I know the audio is too loud. OK, so in the opening shot, the Sony Z1P shot the "black" water at level 23. If I knew then what I know now,

I have a very similar problem - I'm shooting with a mirror rig using two Sony HD camcorders. The project is at 25p and renders OK side by side at this rate. But when I render to 24p, I get the flickering you describe. I solved it by removing the S3D

I've been doing some trial and error, rendering some HD footage from my XR500V to 24P.....using both 8-bit and 32-bit floating point. Could be me, but I could see a difference with the 32-bit full range over the 8-bit in the shadow detail. Again,

The main reason for putting the O/S and programs on one drive and all your data (including video) onto other drives is that it makes backup and recovery MUCH easier. On all my computers (I have close to a dozen) I use a partitioning program to
