RE: Unmanaged Exception (0X000001D)
Is there a special fraps codec? It is using a fraps dll for some reason. That dll (or whatever it's doing with it) could be the problem.

RE: 45 gig Upload
1. Go to the Fraps forum. 2. Search the terms "Handbrake" and "Youtube." You will find all the information you need there. Rendering to full HD YUV is not a solution.

RE: 45 gig Upload
I made a compilation of shots from a game I recorded in Fraps, all set to a 6 min song. I captured the video @ 1920*1080. I read that you should keep video at the same quality so I rendered the video in the same resolution. I selected the "match

RE: Record from HDMI(on laptop) to Main Tower?
Yes - I have tried several free and also not free programs. The problem was always some disturbing lagging - even if I I dutifully installed the proposed codecs, lowered the frame rates, the resolution etc. Searching on I found Fraps. Also to me

RE: Record from HDMI(on laptop) to Main Tower?
If you just want to record the Skype session from the screen of the laptop - but want to be sure that the recording in not lagging etc - you could use the cheap but good program Fraps http://www.fraps.com/ There is a trial version for testing it.

RE: Sony Vegas Pro 12 New Features Tutorial & Giveaway
Thanks James! I hate to point out flaws but yes the H4n that we used through FRAPS was clipping a bit during recording. We didn't notice until halfway through, but decided it was salvageable and left the levels where they were to maintain

RE: Render 1600x1200 video for YouTube
Plenty of discussion about this on the fraps forums. Unless you and your friends have uberfast processors and connections, best advice right now is to stick with 720p for Youtube. Game play is not going to look that great if it stutters at higher

RE: Good screen capture software?
Hi. I ran into the same issues. One (pretty affordable) option is FRAPS (http://www.fraps.com). Not much customisation, it demands that you capture your entire screeen, but you can always crop later in Vegas. You also need a good sized USB ext

Remove pulldown from 59.94 footage
Hello, I have footage that was shot at 29.97 psf mode, and Vegas 10e reads it as 59.94. I've set the project properties to 29.97, but I suspect it's not as easy as that as the footage has what appears to be a lot of ghosting when there's movement.

(Very) Low GPU Usage? Bottleneck?

RE: Import media files memory limitations
Again, it depends on what format is and what type of camcorder the video is coming from (as well as your computer's configuration). MiniDV and HDV tape-based footage works by far most efficiently in the program. I've loaded over 100 gigs of video
