RE: Hit & Miss On Render Quality
Steve, The original video source was a series of flight simulation sequences captured on my computer by FRAPS. In between the FRAPS avi clips, I have some digitized 16mm gun camera film (avi format). Do not have any problems with the digitized 16

RE: Rendering issue
it's definitely not fraps. I have been editing for 2 years using fraps, never had a problem. Also, I am in a youtube community of editors that only uses fraps, and problems are never encountered. also, for the hard drive conversion, is it possible

RE: Rendering issue
Hard drives come from the factory formatted FAT32 -- an old style of drive formatting that has a file size limit that often chokes video editing work. Converting it to NTFS is vital. (You can find instructions for doing so online.) But the bigger

RE: Rendering issue
1. It's not a camcorder, all the files in the video are FRAPS files and music files 2. I don't remember exactly for settings as I started about a month ago. All I do remember is that I selected for high quality internet streaming (I post to

RE: Some Clips Not Rendering When Exported To DVDAS
I went back into VMS and did a time selection loop across one of the 2 problem events (recorded with FRAPS). So I just rendered that loop. Opened the rendered loop in DVDAS and it played fine. So why would it play fine when rendered separately

RE: Some Clips Not Rendering When Exported To DVDAS
Steve, For added clarification, the FRAPS sequences are recorded in an avi format. They all play fine under Windows Media Player (WIN7, 64 bit). For some reason, the 2 problem files are just not getting rendered properly when going from VMS to

RE: Some Clips Not Rendering When Exported To DVDAS
Steve, I have about 25 separate video clips (events) on my VMS10 timeline. About 7 of the video events are 16mm film that was digitized to avi format. These all render and play fine under VMS & DVDAS. The remaining files are sequences from a

RE: What you can do with 14 days, and Vegas
Thanks for the feedback. I have to say, all the feedback is a LOT like the revision meetings: more motion, less motion, more visible minorities, more women, more industry, more agriculture (seriously, the big win image: the visible minority female

What you can do with 14 days, and Vegas
This project was completed (from award of contract) in 14 days. Two days were spent in the provincial archive seraching for images (not including scanning of negs and then getting ministerial approval for them). I wrote the script, storyboards,

VMS10 Resolution Confusion
Being a video novice, I am not quite sure how to explain my problem, but I will give it a try. I am using FRAPS to record on-screen video from a flight simulator game. My screen resolution is set at 1600 x 1200 and fps is set at 29.97 in FRAPS.

RE: OT: BadaBoom v2.0 media encoder released
Badaboom uses the Open Source library FFMpeg for file I/O and will only read AVI files with codecs such as MPEG2, etc. Basically Cineform, Avid and even Debugmode Frameserver's internal codec will not work with Badaboom, even version 2.x. The file

RE: VMS HD90 Crashes when overlapping avi files-SOLVED
You could try this: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=727069&Replies=9 And if that doesn't work, then try the trial of Platinum 10 as I mentioned above. If that doesn't work either, then transcode the FRAPS

VMS HD90 Crashes when overlapping avi files-SOLVED
I got the trial version of VMS and was able to overlap the clips to provide the desired transition between 2 avi files captured by FRAPS. Then I bought the retail version, and have not been able to do it since. Now any time (and every time) I

RE: Hauppauge HD PVR hates Sony Vegas HD 9.
I purchased it in early December, I only recently registered on the forums. Also, I think I just say the cheapest thing and said, "That'll work," and went with it. I just got my HD PVR a few days ago. HD 9 worked great with Fraps footage, it just

No, Vegas does not perform any screen capture functions. However, I think if you use camtasia or fraps or any of the other screen capture products, that you should be able to bring your videos into Vegas and edit them. (But I've not done this

HD fraps vids to Youtube
Hello, I'm using VMS9 Platinum & I'm trying to upload some of my gaming videos to Youtube. I'm using fraps to record at 30fps in a resolution of 1600x1080. Most of my videos are 6-8 minutes long. I want the highest quality for these videos

Kimberly, ---- How did you do the stars and flames? I use Particleillusion 3. I start out with a basic type of effect in the slew of stuff they have and then go to town and make my own. Very tweakable, also rather time consuming but... fun :o)

RE: Vegas Pro 10.0a still freezes with FRAPS?
Thanks, that definitely sounds worth trying. With fraps a 30 sec clip isn't really enough to test with. Fraps files split around 4GB and I typically try to import 10-20 at a time. I can sometimes, slowly get one of these files to import. But I

RE: Vegas Pro 10.0a still freezes with FRAPS?
Can't help with FRAPS as I don't use it but I get the same issues when I use AVIScreen Classic. I end up batch re-encoding them via VirtualDub. Re: game videos Are you doing HD or SD? If you're doing SD then I'd highly suggest you get something

10.0a still requires the .dll hack to load fast
I am trialling 10.0a with a view to upgrading with the discount before tomorrow. I have set up everything on 10.0a as close as I can to my 8.0c installation (I skipped 9.0). As my source footage is all DV and HDV I don't really need the upgrade, but
