1,001 Sound effects?

I found on a recent link listed by Eugenia that the Sony Platinum Pro Pack (which I have) Has a 1,001 Built in Sound Effects. I can't find them any where.

Anyone know where to find them and how to use them?

When i got them they were a separate CD. These days SONY tends to ship a single DVD with everything on it. Look at the installation DVD for a directory that says 'sound effects' or something like that.

If you got the downloaded version you'll have to contact customer support and request the disc. It's free, but you'll have to pay shipping, probably around $15.

As for using them, they're just audio files (.pca format, if i remember correctly). Simply drag them onto the timeline where you want them.

There are also several sites on the net offering 10.000s of sound samples i.e. Sounddogs or Soundsnaps...

ICE, have you found the sound effects files?

They are located on the application disc, in the Content folder. When you insert the disc into the drive and the auto-run screen appears, choose to browse the disc, and you'll find the Content folder.

If he downloaded the software, there is no link to get the sound effects: at least that's what happened to me. If anyone has a link?.....

The 1,001 Sound Effects are only included on the application disc, they are not included in the downloadable version.

Hi guys,
Thanks for all the help. I'll check out those sites and search the disk I bought it at Best buy so hopefully I'll have them. (if I can find it).

Another good site is; music-for-video.com/downloads.
they got a coulpe of unique and quality sounds for free.

Hey I found them. I don't know why they don't just install with the program but I got them now.
There pretty basic.

Well, there really isn't much "install" about them. Copy them to the hard drive if you want to, or not. I'm sure most people would prefer leaving them on the CD/DVD until they want them, and then only copy over the files they want.

Yeah, that's what I did.
After further review they are actually pretty cool. Worth using if you have them.

If you are looking for background theme music try www.freeplaymusic.com
There is a wide range to select from and for non-commercial application they are free to use. You are asked to include an acknowledgement of freeplaymusic on your video and I think there is provision to pay for commercial applications.
