1-Need Contract for Actors - 2-Arts Atty - 3-Where forum for actors?

1 - I need a contract that I can use to for actors in my training & educational productions.

2 - Better yet, a lawyer who is an expert at creating actors contracts for producers and knows the entertainment business. (Any location OK but Orlando, FL/central FL area would be great.)

3 - Anyone know of any forums for actors where I could ask questions about pay scales and other stuff.

Thanks for any help.

Here is one site:

I would check the internet for actors in florida, but you'll have to screen for someone who has preferably done a training type video.

I have used Darlene Price several times before (she is used by IBM, Canon, Motorola, etc.). She would record the script onto tape and play it back live--no memorizing, never a mistake and she could practice her routine and inflection (and pronunciation) rather than worrying about the lines and she could re-record and change within minutes. She had special hidden earphones and stop/start wires for her hands and pocket--pretty high-tech setup. She used to be a newscaster and I've seen her on several national tv commercials.

She charged about 2,000 per day for events (I don't know what she charges for video productions)--but she was VERY fast. A lot depends on your budget.

You should be able to find standard contracts on-line also. I have found several that I used for testimonial videos ("How to finance a high-tech startup," etc.). Unfortunately, I am not at my home or I would attach them.

You would typically look for an actors release form, and then adjust the compensation according to your agreement. I am not a lawyer, so these forms may or may not be tight:

http://www.mccoyfilm.com/releaseform.doc

I have one at home that was drafted by an attorney. It contains many of the same clauses.

You might also try the web site of Movie Magic software. Just do a search for "Movie Magic Contracts," and other products they have.

Check your local community theatre; actors will be cheap or free and you might be surprised at the talent. I produce a world famous recurring play at our local theatre [all volunteer] and we get calls all the time for commercials, extras for movies, etc. The fact that we keep getting them must mean the producers are satisfied with the results. The fees paid are basically minimum wage. If your work requires union actors, this approach will not work. Its worth a phone call or 2.
