10 secs is all I get. Any ideas.

PROBLEM. I'm editing away, previewing a clip, sometimes looped, sometimes not, and, for no apparant reason, the timeline will only play 10 seconds. I've searched the forum (and everywhere else) and it doesn't seem like this is a problem, so my first idea is it's something I'm inadvertently doing....I hope.

Having the loop feature set is not the problem. It's actually happened while I was reviewing a long loop several times. I somehow cleared it by restarting the program, but now that hasn't even helped. You can move the curser around the project, but all it will play is 10 seconds.

I'm running XP on a 2.53G 512M machine. No problems in the past.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
Mike

Maybe Options-Preferences-Editing tab -"enable looping on events by default" ???? Just a thought. DGrob

are you trying to play from the start of your project? if so, do you have the looop button on? And, if so, do you happen tp have the first 10 seconds looped by accident?

i've done this before, gotten frusterate, then slapped my head in stupidity.

Nope. That's the first thing I considered. I'm still stumped on this one. I finally completely restarted the machine and completed the project. It was wierd because I could be reviewing the same clips over and over, and then out of the blue (without having pressed any keys) it would revert to just 10 second of play. I could move the cursor anywhere in the project, and from that position, 10 seconds and stop. Hhmm.

Thanks for the thoughts!

Hmmm...wonder if it has anything to do with RAM getting full? Just guessing.

P.S. Mike, are you in Hawaii?
